Marius (15): – – Metallica's stolen gift

On Wednesday evening, a dream came true for 15-year-old Marius Hansen. Oslo festival favorites Metallica played Tons of Rock, and Marius was of course in the front row.

After the ceremony, something incredible happened.

The band's drummer, Lars Ulrich, extended his hand, says the 15-year-old, who suddenly stood up, holding a sweaty drumstick in his hand.

The boy was ecstatic. But the joy was very short-lived.

Only seconds later, the wand was snatched from Marius' hands.

“Now you're mine,” said a grown man, sticking it into the lining of his jacket.

The 15-year-old protested, but the man, who appeared to be in his 50s, according to Marius, only gave him a sour look.

Marius's friends and other onlookers must have absorbed the event.

– Many people confronted him, but before we knew it, the man disappeared into the crowd, says Marius.

I was shocked

The 15-year-old was angry and sad. He says the incident happened quickly, and he did not have time to react before the thief disappeared.

The boy's mother, Jan Carlsen, says she was shocked when she heard about the incident.

“Imagine that a grown man could steal from a young man,” she says in disbelief.

She says her son waited long hours to get a place in the front row.

-We've been to tons of rocks before. There has always been a fantastically good atmosphere. But you get a lump in your throat when adults behave so badly, says Marius' mother.

Hopefully the culprit will be revealed

Father Tor Inge Hansen is also distraught by the incident. He hopes the thief will be exposed.

– Perhaps whoever reads about the incident can reveal the perpetrator, he wonders.

And now Metallica has traveled to Clisson in France.

The family hopes that the drum problem will eventually be resolved. But for now, it seems the party trophy has been lost.
