It's been almost five months since a shock wave hit Hollywood: Friends star Matthew Perry has died – at just 54 years old.
The death left the entire world in mourning, and most recently during the Academy Awards on Sunday, the actor was paid tribute.
The fans are angry
Now Perry's stepfather, Keith Morrison, is speaking out about the grief he has been left behind. He does this on the Make Room podcast. Reports Entertainment Weekly.
Morrison is married to Perry's mother, Susan, and has been the actor's stepfather since he was 12 years old.
-As others have told me hundreds of times: Sadness doesn't go away. He is with you every day. He is with you all the time. New aspects of sadness attack the brain from time to time, and this is not easy.
Morrison adds that some solace is knowing his stepson was in a good place before his death.
– He was happy, he said that. He didn't say that for a long time. It's a consolation, but he didn't get a third round, and that's not fair. As he said himself: “If you die suddenly, people will be shocked, but many will not be surprised.” And he was right.
– I loved him so mach
The third trimester is used as a term to denote the stage a person goes through after retirement, usually in the 60s and 70s. It is also the last stage in life, where, after a long life, a person has more freedom and free time to delve into his own interests, without being restricted by work and career. Perry was unable to experience that stage.
-It's not easy, especially for his mother. I don't think I'm exaggerating if I say that at the end of his life they were closer than I've seen them in decades. They texted each other constantly, and he shared things with her that most middle-aged men wouldn't share with their mothers, says Morrison, who adds that he and Perry also had a close relationship.
