Lionel Messi returned to training on Monday after a short suspension imposed by the club.
Paris Saint-Germain published a picture of Messi in Social media Monday’s training. The club has yet to make a public statement regarding the Argentine and the comment that was handed over the highly publicized trip to Saudi Arabia.
However, Paris Saint-Germain coach Christophe Galtier confirmed in Friday’s press conference that the club’s board of directors had informed him of Messi’s suspension. He didn’t play on the weekend and also didn’t get to train with the team.
Messi’s trip to Saudi Arabia in connection with a sponsorship stint did not go well with the club’s management. The Argentine star himself explained that he believed he had been given a leave of absence when he left.
– I thought we’d have a day off after the game, as always. This trip was planned and I couldn’t put it off because I had put it off before. I apologize to my colleagues and I am waiting for what the club wants to do with me, the Argentine star continues, he stated this in a video he posted just before the end of the week.
