Last week, the streaming service Netflix announced that it has plans to open a “Netflix House,” in an interview with the news agency. Bloomberg.
Here, Netflix fans will be able to experience the worlds of their favorite TV series.
Netflix House will feature a mix of retail, dining and live experiences, says Josh Simon, vice president of consumer products at Netflix.
– New level
According to Bloomberg, Netflix has been experimenting with so-called “pop-up” fan experiences around the world for several years.
For example, “The Queen’s Ball: A Bridgerton Experience”, where you can experience an evening inspired by the TV drama “Bridgerton”.
“We saw how much fans loved experiencing the worlds from our films and TV series, and we thought a lot about how to take them to a new level,” Simon tells Bloomberg.
Netflix House, on the other hand, will not be a pop-up concept, rather they plan to open fixed destinations around the world – if the concept is successful.
The first locations are scheduled to open in 2025 in the United States.

Skeptical
Eric Deggans, a television critic for NPR, is skeptical about the new concept of the streaming service. He thinks Netflix is trying to do something similar, like the Disney World blockbuster.
-Disney has been doing what Disney does for a very long time. “The amount of money Netflix has to spend to actually compete with them doesn’t make sense to me,” Deggans says NPR.
Furthermore, he says he doesn’t have much confidence that Netflix House will last for long.

It could work
On the other hand, Rick Monarrez, a media analyst at investment advisory firm The Motley Fool, is more optimistic about the concept.
-If Disney and NBC Universal can operate the theme parks, I give Netflix a good chance of success with this shutdown, Menarez says: NPR.
