Norderland newspaper: The past year has been an exciting time for both companies.
On January 25 last year, PSW Technology was awarded a contract for maintenance services for the Equinor plant in Mongstad, with Mongstad Industries as one of the subcontractors for the tender.
This has led to good results for Mongstad Industrier, which doubled its profits last year.
In 2023, the company recorded operating profits of more than NOK 11.5 million before tax. The previous year's equivalent was just under three million.
Mongstad Industrier was founded in 1972 in connection with the construction of the refinery. They offer steelwork and prefabrication. Today they have 45 employees, an increase of 13 from last year.
It will continue to operate as its own company
Until further notice, PSW Technology will operate as its own company and towards a shared customer base.
-Through current and previous work, I have collaborated with Mongstad Industries and the current owners, and I know we share a common commitment to delivering high quality. Furthermore, we are both training companies, interested in developing our employees. “We both have a security at the top and a commercial 'mindset',” says Richard Cornell, Day Director of PSW Technology AS.
For the previous owners of Mongstad Industries, Jan Helge Rekstad and Leif Stahl Vabo, it was important to find the right local partner.
-Since we purchased the operations in Mongstad from Caverion in 2018, we have been keen to build a strong workplace with a strong customer focus. Therefore, out of consideration for both employees and customers, we looked for the right local partner to continue the business, and we see great potential for this by selling PSW technology, they say in a press release.
