(Mjøndalen – Fredrikstad 0-1) Mjøndalen goalkeeper Thomas Keane stood like a living wall for a long time, but eventually had to give up when Mads Nielsen secured victory for Fredrikstad.
The score that finally separated the teams came with 17 minutes left to play. Ludwig Begbe struck an excellent free kick, which Nielsen immediately smashed into the goal.
Mjøndalen’s defensive game was not impressive on that occasion. Overall, the home team had a relatively poor home performance.
Even before the goal, it was Fredrikstad who created the biggest risks. In the first half, the home team’s goalkeeper Kane made two big saves that denied the visiting team a goal.
Early in the second half, the same Kinn made another great save.
But in the end, the last chance had to be missed. Thus Fredrikstad can celebrate their second solid away win of the season. In the opening match, Kristiansund were defeated, before drawing 1–1 in the Eastfold derby against Moss in the second round.
Seven points after four rounds of the series give third place in the table. Sogndal at the top have a better goal difference, while league leaders Ranheim have two more points.
Mjøndalen, on the other hand, only Skeid and KFUM Oslo are behind them in the table. One point in three games is lean food.
