Mom Turid Gunnes is proud that her son has been chosen by successful coach Pep Guardiola to be among the 26 players with the United States. In the team there is Oscar Pope with stars such as Erling Braut Haaland (21) and Kevin De Bruyne (31).
The 19-year-old is also fit to make his debut in VGTV’s broadcast matches against Club América Thursday night at 03.10 NST and Bayern Munich through Sunday at 01.00. The mother says that the long-awaited recovery comes after several years of dedication.
– I think it’s a great party. Oscar has worked hard and been patient for a long time. At the same time, he did a good job at the academy. It’s not certain that he will be allowed to play matches in the States, but just for him to train with that gang there, meet Erling Braut Haaland and train under Pep Guardiola, it “boosts” his self-confidence, motivation and everything. I think it’s very exciting. And mum Tauride Jones told VG he’s of course very happy too.

She lives in Portugal, where her son was part of the Porto Academy from the age of 12 to 14. After spending the next two seasons at Vålerenga, Bobb signed for Manchester City in July 2019.
After moving to England, Bob moved to the boarding school of Manchester City Academy. The young boy lived there alone for over a year before being accommodated with a host family during the pandemic. Now the Oslo guy has grown up and moved to himself in Manchester.
– he works hard. At the same time, he knows that he sacrifices a lot. He’s young and wants to have fun, but he manages that balance really well, I think. His mother says he has high expectations of himself.
