Last week there was a traditional friendly match in Scogum. The Skaugum team played against Røa Unified Kids – and lost.
Arouse interest abroad
Among others, Oscar Pope and Antonio Nosa played for Scogum. The coach was Crown Princess Mette-Marit. Røa is made up of players with disabilities.
– How was the Crown Princess as a coach?
– I informed a lot in the group, says Bob The daily newspaper.
– She said that we didn't work well together and that we weren't focused enough. But it was with a smile.
Pope is usually under the expert management of Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.
– Is there a difference between him and the Crown Prince?
– Yes a little. But they both talk too much and are too bossy, Bob laughs.
He says he enjoyed his time in Skaugum.
– How was meeting the royal family?
– Very nice and kind people. that was awesome.
The friendly match comes in cooperation between the Crown Prince's family and the Norwegian Football Association. It was held for the ninth time.
The stars yawn
Bob with the national football team in Oslo. A special international match against Kosovo in Olival awaits on Wednesday. Denmark will play on Saturday in Copenhagen.
The matches conclude a long season.
Bob came to Norway the day after Manchester City toured on an open bus on 26 May. They are the first team in history to win the Premier League four times in a row.
-The show was absolutely wonderful. After that I went out to eat with friends.
– Yes, what's it like to stand on an open bus like this?
– Really amazing. You feel like everything is worth it.
-Teammate Jack Grealish almost falling off the bus several times?
-There was a bit of stopping and starting. Maybe it wasn't easy to stay on my feet.
20-year-old Bob has had an exciting start to his career. He has a past at Lyn and Vålerenga, and has worked his way through the academy at City. He has now signed a contract until 2029.
– This explains a little bit about what I and the club want. “I hope this is just the beginning of my City career,” says Pope.
At the moment, he is in and out of the team. This season he scored two goals, one of them in the Champions League.
– What I experienced on the field was fun. But it's hard when you go a few weeks without playing. This is the last thing you want. At City, it's about how you act, your attitude and how you coach.
He confirms: This has never happened before
Bob's top level shows that he belongs to one of the best football teams in the world. At the same time, he hopes to write history with Norway.
In the special international matches against Kosovo and Denmark, the team relies on showing progress. It is about the faith that the area around “Prosjekt Solbakken” must have.
– How could he not be in the European Championship qualifiers in Germany?
– This is madness. But I think it makes us hungrier. We feel like we should have been there. I think it can provide motivation,” Bob points out.
It is reported that he has vacation until July 15. Then the seriousness begins again with City.
