MANCHESTER (Dagbladet): Erling Braut Haaland earns more in one day than the annual salary of many Norwegians.
But there will be more. At least according to an article in the English newspaper The Daily Telegraph Posted just before midnight, Norwegian time.
Real Madrid is looking for a new striker. It follows the sudden departure of Karim Benzema this summer.
Manchester City are said to be hoping the solution is to offer Haaland a new contract. This is how Real Madrid will be dismissed, although the Norwegian already has a contract that runs until June 2027.
This has been hinted at before, but now the claims are coming in with renewed vigor.
– Manchester City hopes the Treble will sign a new contract with Haaland to keep Real Madrid out, the paper writes.
– The Treble is raising hope Haaland will commit to a longer contract at the Etihad Stadium.
Signing a new contract after a year is not unusual at Manchester City. It is a sign that you have passed the ‘trial period’ and that the club wants you to continue as a key player.
This was the case with Brazil goalkeeper Ederson and, more recently, with Argentine striker Julian Alvarez. The latter extended the contract by a year, which will also apply to Haaland.
The Norwegian company’s agent, Rafaela Pimenta, admitted that he had a takeover clause, but this could not be disclosed.
Former TV 2 expert Ivar Hoff recently suggested that the 22-year-old could live like the Count for the rest of his life. If he does indeed extend the contract now, a weekly salary increase of NOK 5.5 million is on the cards.
– I can’t find the words
Then you can ask yourself:
If Haaland and City also win the Champions League final against Inter on Saturday, how will he motivate himself in the next few seasons? Then he will have solved almost all the tasks in English football – within one season!
Real Madrid would be a natural target for all footballers of Haaland’s caliber. The sight of Abe Alfie and billionaire Oystein Stray Spitalin in the VIP box at the Santiago Bernabéu recently shouldn’t have anything to do with it.
– The accident will not be a problem for a future contract. Guaranteed, Marca journalist Ruben Jimenez tells Dagbladet.
Football club in mourning
The rich Norwegian thrilled Real Madrid fans with gestures from the VIP box.
Coach Pep Guardiola has expressed that Haaland is enjoying himself at Manchester City. Whether the clause in the contract is linked to the possibility of Guardiola leaving within two years, only the inner circle knows.
– We’re in balance. Captain Ilkay Gundogan says the atmosphere in the dressing room is always good.
