- Norway – Kosovo, at 19.00 on TV 2
Ullevaal (Dagbladet): Norway will not go to the European Commission finals in Germany this summer. So we lie down and laugh?
no.
Captain Martin Odegaard is convinced that Norway has something going on. With the experience he has gained from Spain, the Netherlands and England, he sees all the signs of potential greatness.
-We are incredibly coordinated. Teamwork is great. “He's the best I've ever seen in the national team,” says the Arsenal player.
-Everyone gets along with everyone. Everyone supports each other and really wants to achieve something together. It's a good starting point. Then we have to make sure it ends in a championship. We were enjoying it.
And the:
-I feel like very small details are needed. We can go from being a “good team” to being a “very good team.”
It's a strong message ahead of tonight's special international match against Kosovo. Start at 19.00 in Olival. Denmark awaits on Saturday in Copenhagen.
The Norwegian players will be asked some questions about their motivations for playing the two matches. Strictly speaking, it means nothing.
But Ståle Solbakken has managed a piece of art: even without the championship, the enthusiasm inside and outside the team is great.
But definitely:
Global stars Erling Braut Haaland and Martin Odegaard have a lot of credit.
Rumors are circulating
Tonight they will once again try to create magic in front of the Ullevaal crowd. How often do they talk together, so they can shine in each other's company on the field?
“I feel like this is automatic,” says Odegaard to Dagbladet.
-We are both good and smart footballers, and we understand each other. It's a lot of instinct. There are little comments here and there on the pitch that can help us achieve that. We are good friends. We talk a lot together. But just on the pitch, I feel like there's more natural instinct and understanding.
TV 2 expert Jesper Mathisen believes we have yet to see the best of collaborations between big stars.
– It is by no means the maximum. He points out that you can see it in glimpses.
-So I think everyone is a little worried that they are the ones who will save Norway. The two rely on a team that works together and doesn't concede ridiculous late goals. They will achieve great things for Norway in the next ten years.
Solbakken admits that Norway should have qualified for the tournament and moved up 10 to 12 places in the FIFA rankings. Now he hopes for a few years with the pole.
The match against Kosovo will start tonight.
Hopefully it will end with the World Cup in 2026.
