- Rosenborg – Mjundalen 3-1 (1-0)
Rosenborg scored slowly but surely in the gold match after a strong fall. Tonight, nothing was acceptable but three points against Mjøndalen.
The club planned a Sunday party in Lerkendale. First, all coronavirus restrictions have been thrown into the trash. Secondly, the club had to celebrate 80 years since the birth of Nils Arne Eigen. And thirdly, Rosenborg in shape should achieve the eleventh victory of the season.
And the host team did not fail. Two goals from Stefano Vecchia – and one from Noah Holm – implied 3-1 over Magondalen. With the triple indicator, the team climbed to third in the table.
– The most beautiful thing today is that there were 10,000 people here. Coach Aji Harid says the return of the atmosphere and the crowd means a lot to us.
In the stands, Eggen sat content in a wheelchair and stated that he started swinging from Rosenborg again, even though tonight’s three points fall into the category of ‘victory wear’.
– I used to say I only need one birthday present. The all-time Norwegian coach Discovery said before the match that Rosenborg was the winner.
Then the people were in Lerkendale for several hours already. It was celebrated with an 80th anniversary cake on and off the field. The egg turned on September 17th.
“Maybe he’s happy,” Hured points out after the win.
The hosts got off to a perfect start when Veccia sent Rosenborg the lead in the 26th minute. He combined perfectly with Noah Holm and fired into the far corner of Myndalen goalkeeper Socha Makani.
Kent Haavard Eriksen looked great at the 54 minute mark, stopping a shot from his team-mate Trondheim. He was much stronger than Erlind Dahl Reitan in a head-to-head and 1-1 duel.
The shower was fresh cold when goalkeeper Andre Hansen had to walk out with a sprained knee after about ten minutes. Julian Fey Lund came.
But then came recovery. The corner was dumbfounded even more on the field. Veccia was there and he achieved his second goal for the day.
With 16 minutes left, Rosenborg took off by storm. On the final stage, Noah gave Holm 3-1.
A wonderful victory. It was a bit close, says Vecchia, the two goal scorer, but the win is great.
Winning matches is the best thing ever. We didn’t play a good second half. But we won. This is the most important thing.
