After Kevin De Bruyne scored a 1-1 set-piece in the Champions League semi-final against Real Madrid, the home team’s players took to the field at full speed. He clearly meant that there was a foul before the goal.
On the sidelines, Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti was also furious and received a yellow card for his behaviour.
It turned out that the ball was most likely outside the touchline in front of the goal. It would seem that Bernardo Silva managed to keep the ball in the field in the 66th minute. Neither the referee nor the assistant referee realized that it was likely to be out.

Ancelotti: – I can’t understand him
Real Madrid took possession of the ball after the situation, but when Eduardo Camavinga lost it, the attack began, which resulted in the City goal.
Ancelotti, who was standing near Bernardo Silva, spoke about the incident after the match.
– The ball was out of bounds. This is how it is. Technology has proven it, says Ancelotti.
– I can’t understand why the VAR didn’t go in and check this episode, said the Real Madrid coach.
But since Camavinga lost the ball following the situation on the touchline with Bernardo Silva, it was considered that the City attack that resulted in the goal began with that lost ball. As a result, VAR cannot intervene to check incidents before then.

Therefore, the situation with Bernardo Silva was not considered again, although it appears that the ball was out, according to the pictures that appeared in the aftermath of the match on which it is likely that Carlo Ancelotti is basing his allegations.
The photos, which were posted online in the hours after the match, were also shown on BT Sport TV.
– Ancelotti did not pay attention to many things tonight, says Ancelotti about referee Artur Dias.
Real Madrid took the lead through Vinicius Junior, but De Bruyne secured an equalizer in the Spanish capital.
The return match between the two teams will take place the next day, on May 17, when they meet at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester.
