In the first week of April, news came that S Club 7 star Paul Cattermole had passed away. He lived to be 46 years old.
The S Club 7 star is dead
Cattermole was found dead in his home, and the cause of death has not yet been announced. The police were able to confirm that nothing suspicious had happened.
News of Cattermole’s death came just weeks after S Club 7 announced they were reuniting for a tour. Formed in 1998, the band found success with several hits in the 1990s and 2000s.
In addition to Cattermole, the group consisted of John Lee (41), Bradley McIntosh (41), Tina Barrett (46), Rachel Stephens (45), Joe O’Meara (44) and Hannah Spirrit (42).
Now it has been announced that the latter will not be part of the comeback tour. The remaining members say so in a video.
Breaking the silence after a shock death
“We apologize it has been some time since you heard from us, but we are honestly in shock and it took us a while to find the right words to describe the loss of our brother Paul,” John Lee says in the video shared by Instagram.
– You may see there are only five of us here now, and while Hannah will always be a part of S Club 7, she won’t be joining the tour. We wish her all the best for the future, he continues, revealing that they called the tour The Good Times Tour – as a kind of tribute to Cattermole.
Spirit herself hasn’t commented that she has now opted out of the reunion, but the news comes shortly after she was told the sun that she “couldn’t stop crying” after Cattermole’s death.
Spearritt and Cattermole dated for seven years in the 2000s, before they got together in 2015. However, the relationship ended soon after.
