The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will not resume its diplomatic relations with Israel until several important points are met.
It was the Saudi Foreign Ministry that stated in clear text what was required before the powerful country in the Middle East resumed its relations with Israel: recognition of a Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders, and that what the state refers to as “Israeli aggression” stops in Gaza.
These statements come against the backdrop of the visit of US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken. He has already visited Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Qatar, and arrived in Israel on Tuesday.

Saudi Arabia and Israel were on the verge of reaching a historic agreement to normalize relations between the two countries when Hamas carried out the terrorist attack inside Israel on October 7, ahead of the Israeli response that has so far claimed the lives of several thousand people.
The Institute for the Study of War, ISW, noted that the Hamas attack may have been intended to sour the mood between the two countries.
