(Arsenal – Crystal Palace 2-2) Martin Odegaard went out, Alexandre Lacazette came in – and he saved one point for Arsenal in overtime from overtime.
– We kept one point. We wanted to win. Arsenal champion Lacazette says on TV 2 broadcast after the match that it is something we have to work with, to get back to the top.
Arsenal are desperate for points, and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang sent the hosts ahead after just eight minutes. He started with a corner kick from Martin Ødegaard, Pepe played on the wall and hit it, Vicente Guaita saved, but responded. On the back post, Aubameyang stood ready and put the ball into the goal with his left foot.
But it’s bad and hurts Arsenal.
Turn the battle
The Crystal Palace was good on a Monday night. They chased the ball and chased after a goal, and five minutes into the second half, Christian Benteke was paid for a solid performance.
When Thomas Partey lost the ball in a duel, Benteke was ready. Lærkula came his way, playfully, went towards goal, and hit a ball, a shot to the ground from distance. The ball went off the corner to the left of Aaron Ramsdale and entered the goal.

Crystal Palace coach Patrick Vieira (45) was seconds away from scoring three points against his old club. He has never experienced the Emirates at home, but at Old Highbury he won three league golds and four FA Cup titles with Arsenal from 1996 to 2005. He is one of Arsenal’s greatest champions and this evening was on his way to one of his biggest scalps as a manager.
But after 94 minutes 25 seconds, the great Frenchman sank in frustration when compatriot Alexandre Lacazette spoiled what looked like a party night and snatched two points from Crystal Palace.

hit the back
Martin Ødegaard was substituted after the break in the second half.
Erik Huseklepp, TV 2 expert, believes Ødegaard must rise from the safe, in order to achieve more success.
He has to dry up and play hard passes, because he can. But then he must dare and fail, Huseklepp says.
Alexandre Lacazette came. He came to the field with huge amounts of energy and will, which instantly spread to the audience. The noise level in Emirates Airlines has increased significantly. And after four minutes on the field, in the 72nd minute, the Frenchman almost hit the ball and took control of the home team’s goal.
But it made it more exciting than that. When hope nearly ended, 94 minutes later he was paid, he scored a goal to unbridled cheers and secured the points share.
note! Arsenal have not beaten Crystal Palace at home since winning 4-1 in 2018, since then the two teams have met three times in the Emirates. It ended in a draw three times, while Crystal Palace won 3-2 in 2019.
