The Red Cross and a rescue helicopter were searching for two men who did not return home from a ski trip.
The police received information about the incident at around 5 pm today.
– Two men who were on a ski trip did not return home as agreed at 3pm today. From Ljosandbotnen on Mjølfjell to Grindafletthytta. The Red Cross and a rescue helicopter are in the area, and police write in X that they are searching for the two missing men.
The hiking area is located in Voss Municipality, Westland County.
As of 11 p.m., the Red Cross reports that the skiers were found safe inside Grindaflethita, police wrote in an update.
Helge Flintheim, operations manager in the Western Police District, said earlier Bergen's Dente that they had no indication that anything had happened to either of them.
– Reports flashing lights from the rescue helicopter cabin. We are eagerly awaiting information on whether these are the two. The operations manager told the newspaper that it was difficult for the helicopter to land at that location.
Rescue manager Vincent Roos at HRS Sør told VG earlier that they were assisting a rescue helicopter.
– It searches the area where the skier's car is parked and where the cabin is, he said.
Weather creates challenges for rescue operations.
– There are snow showers and low cloud cover. There are challenges with helicopter landings. Ground troops also have challenges. It wasn't the best weather, Roos continued.
