The police arrive at the scene and tell the newspaper that they have been given permission to demonstrate in Gothenburg every Saturday.

– Now they stand outside Scandinavia. Police say they have huge resources because Melodifestivalen is taking place at the venue.

Two men, dressed as watermelons, were said to be holding a poster with the message “Don't forget the children of Gaza”.

After the outbreak of war between Israel and Hamas on October 7, many have demanded that Israel face the same consequences as Russia, which was banned from the competition in 2022 as a result of its war against Ukraine.

Israel, for its part, has always maintained that hostilities against Gaza were “inevitable” as a result of the Hamas offensive.
