For nearly ten years, she has battled cancer, and over the years she has chosen to be open about her journey. In the past, she shared, among other things, her thoughts about her funeral.

Now Doherty is opening up on her podcast Let's Be Clear, where she says she got rid of her possessions and wants to make the lives of those around her easier after her death.

My priority now is my mother. “I know it would be hard for her if I died before her,” she says on the podcast Page six.

– Because it will be very difficult for her, I want other things to be much easier. I don't want her to have too many things to deal with. I don't want her to have four storage rooms full of furniture.

Doherty explains that the reason she started going through her belongings and donating or giving away her things was in case something happened to them.

Last year, the “Beverly Hills 90210” star underwent surgery to remove a brain tumor. At the same time, she reviewed her will again, which made her think about her funeral.

– It made me start thinking about who would be there. There are a lot of people that I think will show up and I don't want them there. The reason they came was not necessarily for the best, and they didn't seem to really like me, she said, adding:

– They're coming to my funeral because it's the right thing to do, and they don't want to look bad. explains the actress, adding that she wants to take that pressure off those involved.
