Space: – “Devil’s Comet” is approaching Earth

The comet got its name because of its distinctive appearance. With multiple “pods”, it has been compared to the Millennium Falcon spaceship from Star Wars.

12P/Pons-Brooks, as it is actually called, has not been visible in the Northern Hemisphere since early May, while it is visible in the Southern Hemisphere through telescopes.

But on Sunday, the comet will be at its closest point to Earth – “only” 230 million kilometers away – without any associated danger.

In fact, it is farther from the Earth than the Sun, which is 149 million kilometers away CNNWhich mentions the visual visit of a comet.

It takes a space object about 71 years to complete one revolution around the sun. So Avisa describes taking a closer look as a unique opportunity – one you can probably only experience once.

Since it rarely passes, joint observations made by astronomers can provide valuable information about the comet. For people below the equator, this will be the first good chance to see Devil's Comet since the 1950s.

Giga hole discovered

The comet was first observed by Jean-Louis Pons and William Robert Brooks in 1812 and 1883, respectively, and astronomers estimate it to be between 10 and 20 kilometers in diameter.

CNN wrote: Satan has seen a number of outbreaks in the past eight months.

During this period, gases and dust are released – this is normal. The comet has a green tinge to its color, which is typical because it contains diatomic carbon molecules, which glow in ultraviolet light.
