After the New Year, Grandes fever spread through Norway. First, Rema 1000, Kiwi and Extra have reduced the price of the Grandiosa Pizza from NOK 59.90 to NOK 29.90.
After that, the novelty of Grandiosa Hjertepizza took over store shelves, and Aftenposten newspaper reported About 150 extra people work on weekends at the Grandiosa factory so stores don't run out of people's favorite items.
Now it's New Zealanders who are taking action.
“So that all our customers can enjoy the low price of Grandiosa Pizza, we have set a limit of three pieces per customer. Merchandise is constantly coming into our store,” said a note at Kiwi Rodeløkka in Oslo.
– Demand is great
DinSide contacted Kiwi to see if it has introduced Grandis restrictions into its other stores.
– Our stores have the option to set a limit if an order turns out to be so large that it can be seen empty. We receive regular shipments, but we want to avoid having the store empty before the store receives the next delivery,” says communications manager Nora Mael Helgesen.
She continues:
– In order to ensure that as many people as possible can enjoy the low prices, we have allowed shops to set restrictions, if they think it is necessary. This is basically something we rarely do.
Paying a lot for water
It confirms that the prices continue until February, and that you have plenty of time to shop for the items included in the price reduction.
-We've sold out a lot of all the products included in the markdown, so this has been very popular with Kiwi customers.
– Above all expectations
When the price of grandiosa fell, consumers flocked to stores.
Norwegians eat the most frozen pizza per capita in the entire world. Pizza is therefore an often offered product, and when Extra cut the price sharply, we notice additional demand and expect to sell a lot of Grandiosa in the future, Simen Kjønnås Thorsen, communications consultant at Coop, told DinSide.
Rupture: – New Horizons
Rema 1000 said stock will vary from store to store, while Kiwi provided the following summary:
-Sales exceeded all expectations. Our stores receive deliveries on an ongoing basis.
