The number of Tesla cars delivered in the second quarter fell from the previous quarter. The result was weaker than analysts expected.
Electric car maker Tesla on Saturday introduced Figures for the months of April, May and JuneWhich indicates that Elon Musk delivered 254,695 electric cars during this period.
According to international media, this was lower than analysts had previously expected. The forecast was 295,078 cars, Reuters news agency wrote, according to Refinitiv figures. US CNBC writes that analysts expected 256,520 vehicles to be delivered, according to Facttest numbers.
In the update, Tesla notes that the delivery took place despite the ongoing global supply crisis and factory closures due to the coronavirus outbreak in China.
The 238,533 pieces of electric vehicles delivered were of Type 3 and Y, while 16,162 were of Type S and X, appeared on Saturday.
In the same period last year, Tesla delivered 201,250 electric vehicles. In the first quarter of the year, the number was 310,046 electric vehicles — the quarterly record.
Tesla will provide second-quarter accounts after the exchange closes on Wednesday, July 20, it was reported.
Electric car shares are down 35 percent on the New York Stock Exchange this year, among other things, including Musk’s proposed takeover of Twitter, shutdowns in China and uncertainty about the global economy, according to Reuters.
