Prince William (40) and Prince Harry (38) have been a good example for several years of two brothers standing up for each other. Recently, they have been an example of the exact opposite. The relationship between the two brothers is said to have been quite strained, which Harry talks about in his Netflix documentary series and in his book, “Spare”.
It hasn’t happened in over 100 years
Since 2010, a painting of the two brothers has been part of the exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery in London, and has been described as “a delightful picture that expands what is traditionally regal”. The image was also hailed as “thoroughly fresh”.
The gallery has undergone extensive renovations over the past three years and is set to reopen this month. Now you write the British newspaper times The image of the Prince brothers has been removed, and it will no longer be part of the gallery.
happy picture
The painting shows two resting brothers, and the paper speculates whether this is the reason why it was not hung again. They write that it may be a “painful reminder” of the entanglement in the British royal house. Perhaps it is especially difficult for Princess Kate (41), who is the patron of the exhibition – and therefore visits it more often than the rest of the family.
– I had enough
The National Portrait Gallery has not commented as to why the picture was not included in the gallery when it reopened. However, a spokesperson stated that they do not have the ability to display all of the boards they have.
– With over 250,000 images in our collection, we can only show a small percentage on the building, says the person involved and adds:
The last time the painting was shown was between March and August 2018.
More poetry
It’s Nikki Phillips who’s behind the photo, and she’s been told before Sunday times that William and Harry had to stand at the painting for seven and a half hours, on five separate occasions. They put twice separately, and three times together.
Setting fire to divorce rumors
– they looked at each other, talked and laughed. William was the protective older brother, who aimed Harry’s belt. It was perfect, so I asked them to act like this. They were so charming, so smart, and so funny, she said, adding:
– Harry was a completely different man then. I think my picture has now acquired historical significance.
