This was exactly the case during the auction I organized Emirates Auctions Earlier this year.

The license plate, which you see on the car below, has become the most expensive license plate ever sold in the world, according to the auction house.
“P7” was sold for 55 million dirhams, equivalent to 168 million Norwegian kroner.
The previous record dates back to 2008, when Saeed Abdel Ghaffar Khoury bought a sign for 52.2 dirhams, equivalent to 159 million Norwegian kroner.
