Many British media, among them BBC And the Sky Newsreports that the British government has ordered an investigation into allegations that outgoing Prime Minister Liz Truss was hacked by Russia.
The incident was said to have taken place while Truss was herself Secretary of State – her last cabinet position before taking over as Prime Minister after Boris Johnson.
Private messages, including about the war in Ukraine, are said to have been leaked from Truss’ mobile phone. The situation was revealed this summer, but it must have been kept secret until now.
An unnamed government spokesperson said they had strong cyber protection at the time, and adds that afterward it would not be appropriate to comment on the security of individuals.

Sensitive information is said to have been leaked during the incident, and opposition parties have asked for an explanation as to why the information has reached the public only now – several months after the alleged breach occurred.
