IFK Göteborg appointed Ola Larsson as their new technical director on Sunday evening.
Stefan Bilborn will be a close friend of Larsson.
The Swedish press is therefore speculating whether the Sarpsborg 08 coach is suitable for the coaching vacancy in Gothenburg.
then Aftonbladet Larsson asked if he would like Bilburn to become the new IFK coach, the answer was:
– As for Stefan Bilborn, I really want him to move in with me. So you understand what our relationship is like.
The former Hammarby coach was present when IFK Göteborg met Malmö two weeks ago.
For TV 2, Belburn dismisses the rumours.
– Unfortunately, there is nothing to answer. I haven’t heard anything from IFK Göteborg, neither now nor in the past.
At both Brommapojkarna and Hammarby, Larsson worked with Bilburn.
After Sunday’s 1-1 match against Norrkoping, the manager explained his close relationship with the Sarpsborg coach.
– When I started as a youth coach at BP in 2002, I met Stefan Belborn. It’s not a rush between us, he told Aftonbladet, but he’s not far from it.
Larson also said that the two talk daily, but Bilburn is far from the only person who does that with him.
Sarpsborg 08’s general manager, Raymond Fjeld, has yet to hear anything from the Swedish club.
These are the kinds of rumors you have to live with when you have a coaching staff doing well. When there are coaching jobs in Sweden, there will always be rumors about good Swedish coaches, but we just have to live with that, says Field.
