A Ukrainian airstrike hit three Russian military aircraft and a fuel depot at the Belbek air base in the Russian-annexed Crimean peninsula on Thursday.
The image shows satellite images from the American satellite company Maxar, Reuters reported.
Pictures published by the company show two destroyed MiG-31 aircraft and a destroyed Su-27 fighter. Another MiG-29 is also said to have been damaged.
Ukraine has not confirmed responsibility for the attack.
More attacks
The Russian Defense Ministry said on Thursday that Ukraine carried out an attack overnight in the Crimean Peninsula.
According to Russian authorities, its air defenses shot down five ATACM missiles. This has not been confirmed by independent sources.
The day before, Wednesday, Russia claimed to have shot down ten missiles fired at Crimea.
In both cases, Russia did not acknowledge that the attacks caused damage. But on Friday afternoon, she implicitly acknowledged that the attacks had taken place.
Maria Zakharova, spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, said in a statement that the United States, the United Kingdom, the European Union and Kiev are playing with fire when they use Western weapons against Russian territory.
Crimea is not internationally recognized as Russian territory, and Russia has occupied it since 2014.
Zakharova also warned the West once again that “such attacks will not remain unanswered.”
Russian attack on Kharkiv
Recently, Ukraine has launched a number of air strikes against Russian territory, primarily using drones.
These attacks come at the same time that Russia opened a new front in the Kharkiv region in northeastern Ukraine.
In one area in the Kharkiv region, Russian forces advanced 10 kilometers, according to the Ukrainian president. Zelensky says the situation has now stabilized.
Later on Friday, the Russian Defense Ministry claimed that Russian soldiers had taken control of twelve villages in Kharkiv over the past week.
