This got its power peaks in 2021 – E24

In 2021, electricity customers, especially in southern Norway, have seen new price records, in the wake of the energy crisis in Europe.

On Wednesday, the tax rolls for 2021 were released, and the energy industry had a great productivity last year.

E24 compiled the 42 best driving companies and ranked them according to taxable income.

The list is largely made up of the bosses at various energy companies across Norway.

Norway’s energy is at the top

At the top, we have CEO Knut Fredrik Kroepelien at industry organization Energi Norge, where he has been working since 2013.

Kroepelien is one of the leading spokespeople for the energy industry. The head of Energi Norge listed with income of NOK 9.5 million in 2021, up from NOK 3.4 million in 2020.

Kroepelien tells E24 that the main share of income is the private return on assets. The salary at Energi Norge is about NOK 2.2 million of the lump sum, he says.

Then we find Finn Bjørn Ruyter, CEO of Hafslund Eco, which is owned by the Oslo municipality. He has been with the company since 2010. He is Chairman of the Board of Directors of Energi Norge, with Kropelien as its Chairman.

Reuter’s income was NOK 9.34 million last year, compared to NOK 8.4 million in 2020.

Competitive, but not leading

Moreover, Statnett CEO Hilde Merritt Ton follows, which earned NOK 9.26 million in 2021, from NOK 8.5 million in the previous year.

Statnett’s director of communications, Henrik Glette, told E24 that the salary level in Tonne’s position was NOK 5.1 million when she took over, but that she has a higher annual income because she joined Statnett in March 2021 from a management position at the Rumpole Group.

When asked about the income level at Statnett, Glette answered as follows:

– We have a competitive policy, but not leadership wages. Management salaries reflect this.

Only five women are on the list

Ton is the highest paid among women. She is one of a total of five women on the list of 42 people.

She is followed by Managing Director Jannicke Hilland at Yaras Eviny. Hilland is listed with an income of NOK 4.5 million in 2021.

In third place among women we have former Elvia boss Christian Lien. She left her job in late 2021 and is now the CEO of Hafslund Eco. Lian’s income was NOK 3.6 million last year.

If we look at the top list of those with the highest net worth, these three numbers are at the top:

1. Knut Fredrik Kröbelin from Energy Norge: NOK 53.7 million. According to Industry Magazine europower Assets are associated with inheritance settlements and estate sales.
2. Tibber Founder and Co-Owner Edgeir Aksnes: NOK 37.2 million.
3. Finn Bjorn Ritter: 19.5 million Norwegian kroner. Reuter is Chairman of the Board of Directors of Equinor and a member of the Board of Directors of Eidsiva Energi, Equinor and Cegal Group.
