What the three have in common is that they were recently infected with the Corona virus. In other words, it was not possible to declare the tests positive in Norway, Olympiatoppen wrote in a press release.
We are testing that there are challenges associated with dealing with people who have already been exposed to covid-19, and that is why they have virus residue in the body, says Olympiatoppen’s chief medical officer at the Olympics, Aasne Fenne Hoksrud.
– Other countries report the same thing. “We are now in dialogue with the IOC about this,” Hoksrud says.
In China, the requirement for CT is more stringent than in Europe. The CT value is a measure of how many cycles you take the test before you get a positive result. Simplified explanation, this means that too many viruses in the sample give a low value for the CT scan. Chinese rules state that the value must be 35 or higher.
None of the Norwegian athletes have tested positive
As a result of positive tests, as well as another case of infection on board the charter flight from Oslo, seven people in support jobs in Squad Norway have been identified as close contacts.
Everyone on the Norwegian team, regardless of whether they live in their own little bubble to control the infection, says chief medical officer Hoksrud. Thus, defining you as close contact hardly has any consequences.
For the record, no Norwegian athlete has ever tested positive, Olympiatopen wrote.

A positive Swedish athlete test result
The message comes a few hours after the Swedish Ski Association announced that Cross country skier Leo Johansson has been placed in quarantine After testing positive for the emerging corona virus upon arrival in China.
Johansson traveled with the flight from Oslo to Beijing with Danish and Norwegian Olympic athletes on board.
Johansson had already contracted the coronavirus two weeks ago, but chose to board the plane with the other athletes on Thursday night, Norwegian time.
Despite the results of tests in China, the Swedish medical team believes Johansson is not contagious, having tested negative six times in Sweden before leaving.
However, the rules during the Beijing Olympics are different, and Johansson is now not allowed to return from quarantine until he delivers two negative coronavirus samples every 24 hours.
