It’s been 14 years since Ubisoft confirmed it was developing a sequel to the classic Beyond Good and Evil, but now it’s been a long time without news from the ambitious successor.
The game isn’t over yet, because “story designer” Sarah Arellano announced this week that she’s just joined the development of Beyond Good and Evil 2 — as the game’s new lead writer. The issue was first discussed before Eurogamer.net.
Arellano has previously worked on writing and designing content for, among other things, World of Warcraft and the upcoming Saints Row game, and also has experience directing voice acting.
long development time
We got our last fitting look at Beyond Good and Evil 2 in 2018, when the developers released a half-hour gameplay trailer from the all-out action adventure. Since then, one of the main characters behind the project, Michel Ancel, has left the ship, but already at the time indicated that the game was still in good shape.
It still isn’t a good idea to know what Beyond Good and Evil 2 will be, other than that you’ll discover a number of planets in a larger solar system, and each planet will offer a lot of unique things to discover. It will also be possible to play with others. We’re thinking of No Man’s Sky, it’s smaller in size and more customized content.
There is something more about how the game will develop and a potential release window has not been mentioned at this time.
