In the summer of 2021, the small town of Shakopee, Minnesota, is rocked by the brutal murder of 56-year-old American Thayer. Now her boyfriend, Alexis Saborit, 44, has been found guilty of the murder.

All this happened in a Supportit at a crossroads in the city. A local newspaper reported that Sapporit initially struck Thayer repeatedly with a 3.5-kilogram dumbbell, before decapitating her with a machete inside the car. Star Tribune.
People in other cars and nearby residents witnessed the horrific attack. One of them also took a video that appeared to show Sapporit pulling Thayer’s body from the car and then lifting her head by her hair, the Associated Press wrote.
Saburit fled the scene, but was caught by the police about two kilometers away.
In his statement to the police, Sapporit said he acted in self-defense and that Thayer had tried to kill him.
The only thing she kept telling me was that she wanted to get rid of me. I was really angry at that moment, he said to police.
However, the judge in the case, Caroline Lennon, wrote in the ruling that the court found that it had premeditated beyond reasonable doubt that the defendant had acted premeditatedly.
Attorney General Ron Hosivar said he was pleased with the ruling and expects Saborit to be sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
– My mother didn’t deserve this in the first place. His son, Charles Thayer, said, a few hours after the verdict, that this monster deserved to be imprisoned for life.
