On the morning of Saturday, May 20, Aderrien Murry called the emergency number, following a message from her mother, Nakala Murry. It is said that it was because an angry father stepped on the door.
Fearing what might happen, the mother told the 11-year-old to call the police.

The family is now calling for the police officer to be suspended.
Seriously injured
The 11-year-old was seriously injured, but has now been released from the hospital. He suffered broken ribs, a collapsed lung, and liver damage.
The incident led to the boy now fearing the police.

Indianola police confirmed that one of their officers was involved in the shooting, but did not provide further information.
