We had our suspicions that Danish RM Sotheby expert Anders Bilidt had several assignments in Norway when we met him at Porsche Center Asker & Bærum this winter.

And now it's come to light that he's acquired a massive three-leaf clover from Norwegian car enthusiast and collector Erik Boll.

In addition to an ex-Swedish racer from just after the war, the two real gems are a 1939 Delahaye 135 MS Chapron Cabriolet and a wonderful 1950 Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 SS Pinin Farina Cabriolet.

The former participated, among others, in the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este in 2007 and the latter was chosen to celebrate Pininfarina's 90th anniversary at Pebble Beach in 2020. A celebration that was unfortunately derailed by Covid-19.

Alfa Romeo was able to introduce its 6C 2500 just before the war after gradually developing the six-cylinder engine concept over a decade. When civilian production resumed after the war, production continued until 1952 as one of the finest cars in Alfa's history.

The most sought-after cars today are those with the shortest wheelbase and the sportiest characteristics: 6C 2500 SS. The Bøle example is one of the last of these, with the elegant Pinin Farina body featuring unique detailing, especially at the front.

With a perfect restoration signed by Motorima in Sweden, this car will likely be in the $350,000-$400,000 price range. But we'll get the exact forecast later this summer.
