– The prosecution contends that the conditions for imprisonment no longer exist. The case remains under investigation and charges are pending, police prosecutor Christine Kleppa said in a press release Thursday.
On the night of August 13 last year, Alf Magnar Habbestad (64) was found dead at a private address in Ølensvåg, Windafjord municipality.
The man's wife was soon arrested and charged with murder. Since then, the woman has remained in prison but denies any criminal wrongdoing.
Found a bloody hammer in the garage
– Go to sleep
As Dagbladet previously noted, a bloody hammer was found in the garage where the 64-year-old was found dead. The court indicated that they believed marital discord was the motive behind the murder in connection with the earlier detentions.
According to the verdict of the first detention meeting, the woman explained that on August 12 between 20:00 and 20:30 her husband went out to the garage. She herself must have gone to sleep a few hours later, around 10 pm.
The accused woman explained that she woke up at 03.45 hrs. She said she noticed the deceased was not at home, but saw a light on in the garage. According to the description, she then went outside to the garage where her husband was found dead. She called 911 herself.
– A bloody hammer was found near the deceased, says the judgment of the Sør-Rogaland District Court.

He pointed to the car salesman
In another prison meeting, the wife also pointed to a car salesman she believed was responsible for the murder. Among other things, he mentioned the alleged confrontation between him and the car salesman.
– I have nothing to do with this case, the car dealer said when Talkblade contacted him last fall.
