At 10.18pm the police received reports of a work accident at the Solstrand shipyard in Domrefjorden.
– Operations manager at the police, Evind Klokersund, says the boat, which is about 40 meters long, capsized.
Firefighters arrived at the shipyard and brought the situation under control along with the crew. Four vehicles from the fire brigade were at the scene to help save the wellboat, which does not belong to the shipyard.
– It’s all very unusual. Børge Bjerkeli at the police says there were no injuries to employees or material damage.
One must have traveled in the boat.
He fixed the boat
At 23.25, the fire service confirms that the boat is stable and safe.
– It had a 45 degree bearing, and sloped into the cave. “We managed to straighten it out and the crew secured it,” says Nils Bjergnes at the fire service.
Bjergnes explains that the opposite tank of the well boat was filled with water, so that the boat could be repaired. When the police arrived at the stadium, the situation was under control.
– Then the boat was flat and fine, says Bjerkeli of the police department.
After negotiating with the shipyard director, the police left just before midnight.
