Bestselling American author Anne Rice has passed away.
This was stated by the author’s son, Christopher Rice, through his mother facebook side Sunday.
Rice is 80 years old.
The report says the best-selling author died of complications after a stroke.
Words cannot describe the immense grief in our family, a son writes about the loss of his mother.
Rice is best known for his book series “The Vampire Chronicles”. The first novel “Interview with the Vampire” from 1976 was filmed in 1994. Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise played the main roles in the film, which did well in cinemas around the world.
Anne Rice has sold more than 150 million copies of her books.
In 2022, a celebration for Rice is planned in her hometown of New Orleans, the son wrote on Facebook.
The author was married to the poet Stan Rice. The latter died in 2002. The couple had two children, Christopher and Michelle Rice. The latter died of cancer at the age of five in 1972. Anne Rice began writing after the death of her daughter.
Rice’s writings have had a profound influence on vampire literature and modern fiction. Rice has written 36 novels. Many of these wrote under a pseudonym.
