Russian power skating boss Valby does not understand that former Russian pole vault star Yelena Isinbaeva has chosen to move on from Russia.
– She lived like a princess here. She would never be well off in Spain, unless she had many billions stashed away, but the money is disappearing quickly, says Valpe in an interview with RIA Novosti, reported by RIA Novosti. Aftonbladet.
At the end of last July, Spanish media revealed that Isinbajieva had moved to Tenerife, one of the Canary Islands. Before that time she had been out of sight for approximately two years and her whereabouts were unknown.

Isinbaeva’s move to Spain has received great attention in Russia, and imprisoned Russian opposition politician Alexei Navalny has also spoken about it.
It is believed that Isinbaeva moved to Tenerife for selfish reasons and that it was not about her desire to break ties with Vladimir Putin.
The athletics icon has long been referred to as a friend of Putin and is said to have had a close relationship with the Russian president.
“First you cry on the president’s shoulder, then you betray your homeland,” Valby says about Isinbayeva’s exit from Russia.
She also had a senior role in the Russian Armed Forces, where she was given the military rank of major by Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, one of Putin’s closest men.
Isinbaeva herself denied that her move to Spain was an escape from Russia, and said that she was a “global citizen.”

She also downplayed her relationship with Putin, saying her military certificate had only “face value”, meaning it was just a formality and came from her time in CSKA, which she has now left. .
-Is it possible to become a nominal Olympic champion? So let her shut up and live alone in Spain or wherever she lives, goes against Valpe.
In an interview with RIA Novosti, Valpi was asked whether she thought Isinbayeva, who still plays a role in the IOC, could help bring Russian athletes back to the Olympics.
– I have no hopes for that. Valpi says she won’t do anything.
Isinbayeva was for a number of years one of the biggest names in athletics due to her dominance in the pole vault. During her career, she set world records 28 times – in addition, she won two Olympic golds and seven World Cup golds.
She resigned in 2016 and has long been a rising star in Russia.
