You can get three cheap new Samsung A13 phones for the cost of the Iphone SE

It didn’t take several days since Apple launched its new “cheap phone” Iphone SE for Samsung to also launch a cheap smartphone. The timings are random after all the sun signs, but since they both launch so close to the calendar, why not compare the Samsung Galaxy A13 with the new Apple Iphone SE?

How much does a party cost?

Let’s also start by allowing the two competing parties to select “reasonably” through their phones:

Samsung Galaxy A13 It receives a suggested retail price of NOK 1990. The smartphone is not all over the world, although there is a retailer that orders just over three times that.

Apple iPhone SE (2022) In the 64 GB version it is sold at 5290 NOK and above.

remember

Both have 64 GB of storage, but the iPhone SE is also available in 128 GB and 256 GB versions, which cost 700 and 2,000 kronor more than the 64 GB version, respectively. At 196GB, you can get the whole Galaxy A13.

For the most part, it’s the A13 that comes out victorious at this point: it comes with 4GB of RAM, Apple offers 3GB, and the A13 can be expanded with a micro-SD card of up to 1TB (at the time of writing, the cost was The cheapest of its kind, 1688 kroner) lacks Iphone SE expansion options at all in the memory front.

Well, unless you use a memory stick then, but we ignore that in this context. Not only can both phones use this kind of thing but it’s also inconvenient to have a semi-permanent mode in the phone.

screen then?

Here it looks a little better for Apple, which gave the iPhone SE an IPS screen – a technology known for good colours – where the A13 for comparison has a TFT screen. Screen technology is much older than Samsung, although this too has gradually matured somewhat.

But the A13 got a 6.6-inch screen that covers the entire front, Apple’s contribution is 4.7 inches and it doesn’t. The resolutions are 1080 x 2408 and 750 x 1334 respectively. Apple claims an extra tough glass in the display, while Samsung announces Corning Gorilla Glass 5 for the A13 display.

Camera, how does it look there?

Here too, on paper it looks like Samsung’s win. The A13 gets a 50-megapixel main camera with an f/1.8 aperture, as well as a 5-megapixel ultra-wide angle, f/2.2 lens, and a dedicated 2-megapixel macro camera with an f/2.4 aperture. There is also a “deep” camera whatever the same specifications as the macro camera. On the front, the A13 has an 8-megapixel camera with an f/2.2 aperture.

Apple’s Iphone SE in the 2022 release has a single camera on each side, with 12 and 7 megapixels, respectively. These also get f/1.8 and f/2.2.

Of course, the megapixel numbers cannot be compared in this way and say something meaningful about the quality of the camera, especially without testing both. At the same time, it seems quite clear that the most expensive of these two products is also the cheapest.

What about the therapist, the brain as a whole?

Here too we can’t compare well without testing, the processors have different performance regardless of what the specs list says. But since it’s now all we have so far, let’s compare it:

Iphone SE gets the newly developed Apple A15 Bionic Hexa-core processor, which is supposed to be Fastest most expensive models. The phone is also supposed to give better battery life than the previous version, in addition to the fact that it is now getting 5G support.

On the other hand, the Samsung A13 is equipped with an octa-core processor, but exactly which one is not said, apart from the fact that the cores in it run at 2.2 GHz and 2.0 GHz. This also supports 5G, and the battery life is said to be able to last more than two days. The latter should be taken with a pinch of salt, as these are Samsung’s own measurements and are followed by a very small asterisk in the specs list.

battery

And talking about the battery. Samsung A13 batteries are at 5 Ah and should support 15W fast charging. Asked how fast charging is only 15W, but enough faster than the standard in the “old days”.

Apple hasn’t mentioned the battery size in the SE, but the phone should be able to support 18W fast charging, slightly better than the A13, probably. The SE will also support Qi wireless charging, which the A13 does not.

physical – physical

Not only is the screen bigger, but the entire A13 is larger than the Iphone SE, weighing in at 195g versus Apple’s 144g. Here you are asked what to prioritize – screen size or pocket ease.

Iphone SE should be protected from water according to the IP67 standard, while the A13 can not boast of such a thing. On the other hand, the A13 still has a 3.5mm mini-jack for classic headphones, should you want or need something like that.

else

In short, there is no doubt that the Iphone SE could be a good product – we have to test it to find out – but it also seems clear that with this model Apple must use its efficient processor and software to be able to take up the fight against their competitors at a fraction of the price. The physical specs overall look much better for the A13 than for the iPhone SE.

And for the price of the Iphone SE, you’re not far from being able to buy three Samsung Galaxy A13 phones for yourself. Then he should be allowed to complain if his Apple Iphone SE isn’t much better.
