Actor Tone Danielsen (77) is currently happily returning to the screen, in the role of Signe in the TV series “Purk”.

In the crime comedy, she plays Lisa's (Inne Janssen) crazy mother. Dementia is a disease the 77-year-old has seen up close.

– What was written in the script was known. I've seen my father go crazy, I've seen my classmates go crazy. I somehow felt like I had some cover to do this, she tells Dagbladet.

A surprising friendship

Therefore, it was important for Danielsen to highlight several aspects of the disease in the series.

– I was worried about the need to highlight happy moments, as well as the anxiety and confusion that accompanies this condition. “You lose control of life, and I think it's very anxiety-inducing to not have complete control over where you are or what you're doing,” she says.

In “Purk,” there's amazing chemistry between Danielsen's character and Shiroh, a young crime comedian who wants to be a stand-up comedian, played by 32-year-old Junis Joseph.

A particularly good relationship developed between them.

– It was great to work with Jones, and it's great to bring the two characters together. We have become good friends and developed a good relationship. that's awesome!

All “Mother” Norway

The 77-year-old says she has become very happy with the role of Signe. This is not the first time she has played the role of a mother in a well-known television series.

Many people probably remember her best from the TV series “Blåfjell”, where Danielsen played the Norwegian “Blue Mother”. Among the actors of the film “Blåfjell”, she is the one who appears most often on screen so far.

She received an Amanda Award in 1985 for her lead role in the film “The Good Man in Sezuan”, and also played in series such as “Frikjent”, “Wisting”, “Mammon” and the Christmas calendar “Snøfall”.
